    Pitch

Naaz is an emerging alternative artist, producer, director and songwriter based in Amsterdam.
Growing up in a refugee household, Naaz had all odds against her in the world of art. However, her unique Kurdish roots would all but hold her back. With tracks as ‘Words’, ‘Loving Love’, ‘Up To Something’ with million streams, and ‘Azadî’ from the new album, she has cultivated herself to be one of the most authentic and pure artists you’ve heard in a while. With her songwriting praised by legends such as Bono, Elton John, she is an inspiration to many young women. With several Dutch grammy’s to her name and five star rated concerts in the most prestigious venues & festivals, Naaz deserves to be heard by you.

Naaz released her debut album independently in January 2023, titled ‘Never Have I Ever’. The record proves the artist’s versatility and incredibly layered songwriting. Her Kurdish roots mixed with western sounds create a rare authenticity only Naaz could deliver. With rock influences such as Beck and her songwriting hero Stromae as her main inspirations, the album is made to be listened to as a whole.

‘Never Have I Ever’ proves the beauty of duality. It speaks on the privilege of oppression, to be underestimated to the point of developing exceptional street & book smarts. ”When you’re expected to stay minor, they won’t notice you becoming major ”. It is an album sounding like hope while confronting you about the hard truths of a girl turned woman way too soon. The power of starting over, and becoming more than what you’ve been through. Not afraid to tackle subjects such as discrimination, mental health, religion and the lust to live. It’s perfectly packaged in a thin
but sturdy layer of hope, leaving you with a smile and a confronting thought. The purpose of art.
