Raein is an Italian hardcore punk band from Romagna. They are often considered the pioneers of the screamo genre in Europe, which originated in the USA in the late 1990s.
From 1999 to 2005, the Italians of Raein were at the forefront of European screamo hardcore. Revealed by « Il n’y a pas d’orchestre », an album mixing rage and melancholy with class, Raein followed this up with a series of split-albums in 2004, before embarking on a European and Japanese tour. After splitting up in 2005, the Raein members now play with La Quiete and Neil on Impression.
2008. Raein reformed, and in the process released a new album marking a musical turning point for the transalpine band.
The band is back in 2024 for a series of concerts in europe.
